I can recall quite vividly when "blackouts" were quite frequent during a period of my childhood. I suppose looking back, it could have been just another inconvienience we had to try and make the best of. However, I along with my sister and three brothers were very lucky because we had you with us Dad, and you easily made this minor inconvienience a time to remember, a real adventure with your expert and imaginative stories! The memories of such times bring great comfort and a smile to my face. I can actually hear your voice telling the stories, as you gave life and excitement to the charachters you created which had each one of us excitedly holding on to every word. It was like our own living room was immediatley transformed into a whole new world, our imaginations, with the help of yours were limitless and full of wonder, magic and even the occassional fright!!! We all loved those times, our very own personal Jackanory given, shared and made by you, our very special Dad. I'm not sure if ever you really knew just how amazing you were. Just one small example of how your amazing loving nature could make the most insignificant, meaningful, real, and something to cherish and share with our own children and now Grandchildren. Thank you Dad for all the most incredible amazing moments you gave. I love you and miss you so much.xx
